Reaching Our City (ROC) is one of the many missions of COTS that assists families in the OKC area. COTS not only gives financial assistance to ROC, but needed items every other month as well. Bags and bags of paper goods, non-perishable food items, etc. are donated by COTS members and then taken to ROC, as they are always in need of these essential items. ROC is located at 7710 NW 10th, Oklahoma City, OK and their phone number is 405-440-9994. Their motto is "raising up a generation of urban servants" and they live up to that by serving hot meals every Wednesday evening and by assisting needy families in the area. The Urban Mission is a non-profit agency founded in 1975 by Indian Nations Presbytery. Urban Mission is a non-profit agency founded in 1975 by Indian Nations Presbytery. The Mission provides a wide range of emergency social services to needy families in a caring, non-judgmental atmosphere. Funded in part by Indian Nations Presbytery, the remainder of the budget comes from private and individual donations and grants. All of the programs rely heavily on volunteers which provide the opportunity and challenge for persons to not only support the projects financially, but to also become directly involved in helping the needy in their own community.
COTS not only gives financial assistance to the Urban Mission, but needed items every other month as well. Bags and bags of paper goods, non-perishable food items, etc. are donated by COTS members and then taken to The Urban Mission, as they are always in need of these essential items. The Urban Mission (formerly PUM) now operates a food pantry in association with the Regional Food Bank in OKC. The Mission also has a clothes closet and household items for disaster victims who have lost their belongings through a tragedy. Every July the Mission conducts a school supply drive and provides thousands of local children with their school supplies. The Mission no longer accepts garage sale items.
